For years now the rumors have been flying that some major sewing machine company is coming out with a longer throat machine for quilting.
Who is making it?
Is it 11", 13" or 17"?
Where is it made?
What will it look like?
Where can I get one?
Here are the answers and facts. NewJoy has been developing a 16" dedicated quilting machine for more than 2 years and it is finally here. The machine "Crystal Quilter" has a 16" throat. Made in Phoenix, Arizona (Made in the USA) like all of our products have always been and will always be (Made in the USA).
NewJoy delivers only quality products and the Crystal Quilter is no exception. CQ is made of light weight high strength aluminum casting, sealed bearings for low maintenance and uses current day technology inside and out. CQ includes the bells and whistles that until now were only available on 9" throat machines such as an auto thread cutter, auto threader, needle up/down setting.
We have also added features such as a single stitch button that will jog if held, and a presser foot sensor to prevent stitching with the foot up and creating that dreaded birds nest. The picture below is a pre-production representation of the CQ. The control/handle system will provide plug and play controls for the optional stitch regulator (Select A Stitch / SAS). The Crystal Quilter, although not in stores until the end of April can be pre-ordered at a participating NewJoy dealer near you. |
